Watch TV On My Computer Services
Question by citizenx319: Is it safe, or not recommended, to try to access “free tv” etc. without virus protection installed?
I’m not versed well in computer world. I purchased my laptop within USA, and though it’s guaranteed for 3 years for lots of “stuff”, I do not have any spyware or virus protection on it currently, cause I had to ge the computer “wiped clean” for another problem. Now, with nothing specifically installed regards “protection” — YET, I know I need to investiage that properly and specifically — but for now, as I hook up into hotel’s WIFI, or coffee shop’s WIFI, would it be alright to download these “real players” and why don’t they just accept the player I already have in it, It’s a new computer to me, from October 07, and I’ve let it update itself (while I sleep); meaning I can use UTube quite well, and other sites with the ARROW generated towatch — the free tv show sites – are they just scamming in some kind of way? The question is though, is it safe without that spyware, or am I being foolish, and impatient?
I have to say this. I just must be a “dummy” beyond dinosaur. Cause 27 years in offices, and no matter what — this all sounds like gobbledly gook. I love the Answer given, don’t get me wrong — my anger is with all the multiple and ridiculousness of the names, instructions, in other words, although the advice sounds good and I want to get started, when I try I find only MORE and MORE CONFUSION. There’s got to be a better way. Currently I HAD BOUGHT NORTON, but got computer fixed, and it was uninstalled, and I initially purchased online, without a hard copy – and now it’s almost impossible to reach Norton about reinstalling. I am going nuts in this computer maintanance area — i wonder if at this point – would someone advise, say, what I might need to pay a LIVE PERSON, to simply help me maintain my computer — my own brain is too fried. I’m not rich, but I’m losing money and possibly will get virus’ and spies on me, if I don’t choose a real plan, SOON. What should I do?

Get some antivirus and antispyware on there before you download anything. There are many many free ones available so there’s no sense in taking chances.Avast antivirus and spybot search and destroy are 2 good free programs.
