Watch TV On My Computer Services
Question by BesamePapi: For all the “computer savvy people”: Tell me what laptop make and possibly model is best for me….?
PLEASE READ:
I am a college student on a BUDGET. Notice I emphasize the word BUDGET lol. I need a laptop because we already have a desktop at home, but its a “family pc” and its in our living room. Its VERY frustrating to do homework because the layout of my house is so OPEN to the kitchen, the living and dinning areas. When I need to write papers or do homework, I CANT CONCENTRATE because it gets so rowdy with the tv on, grown ups talking, toddlers running around, etc. The result is I end up staying up really late doing homework
Ive already decided that I dont want to move the desktop to my room. There isnt that kind of space in my room and plus every time a family member needs to use the pc they are going to have to go in my room and I dont want that. I like my privacy.
SO, I have decided a laptop is the best way to go. Only now I dont know which type to get. I dont need anything “top of the line” but I want it to last me through college (I am entering the nursing program in Spring/2010 and the program is three semsters long). I will be using my laptop mainly for typing up my homework assignments, doing some research on the internet, and possibly taking some notes in class during lecture. I might want to store some music files, so I can listen to a bit of music while Im doing homework, but I will not be storing a lot of music files. Oh yeah, also, the dvd burner in our old desktop doesnt work anymore, so I want it to have a dvd burner and a dvd player since I dont have a dvd player in my room and I have all these chick flicks that I cant enjoy watching, unless the living room tv is not in use :-\
SO, now that I have told you my life stoty lol, what is your suggestion. Btw, Im also unemployed, but Im using my savings to buy my laptop. Im not looking to buy anything over $ 800 dollars; between $ 300-$ 800 is fine.
Remember: I know I will not be getting a top of the line product for the price range, but thats not my intention. I just want it to put me through the rest of college. Thanx! =]

Best advice for any laptop that i;ve seen is the Acer Aspire 5520! Not even £300 in price too! It’s perfect for business work with built in wireless, great running speeds (Duo core processor, 2GB RAM). All that you really need in a cheep all around laptop is here!
