Question by : How do I split my computer’s audio to auto switch between my tv and my speakers?
I have a tower that sits in between my desktop monitor and my tv. I have a hdmi cable running from the tower to the tv and the vga cable running from the tower to the monitor. I want to split the audio between the tv and my speakers, but only have one going at a time while I’m using that monitor. (when using the tv I only want to have the tv speakers on and not the desktop speakers. vice versa for when I’m using the desktop monitor) If that doesn’t make sense then pretty much what I’m trying to say is I want the computer to know when I’m using the “projector” (My desktop monitor) and when I’m using the “Computer” (My Tv) and switch the audio based on which setting it’s on. Thanks in advance.

Does the PC and TV support Audio over HDMI? If so, you change that in the “playback devices”.
I use an app called Coastal Audio Changer to switch between HDMI audio and analog audio.

For analog audio to the TV, You just need a 3.5mm Y splitter, not a switch.

Question by mark_hensley@sbcglobal.net: TV connection in back reads “PC IN” at top then “VGA” at bottom to insert a type of cable?
Will this allow dual monitor use on a Mac laptop emitting video from the laptop to the tv? I am aware that RPB or G will do the job, but I don’t see it in back of TV. If so, what Mac cable should I purchase? Thanks.

Which Mac laptop do you have?

Macs work best with HDTVs over a digital connection like HDMI.

Some older Macbook Pros have a full-sized DVI port, which can be connected to an HDTV using a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

Some Macbooks have a miniDVI port, which will need the Apple miniDVI-to-DVI adapter and a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect to an HDTV.

The latest Macbook Pros have a miniDisplayPort, which needs a miniDisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter and a standard HDMI cable.

So find out which Mac laptop you got.

Question by cl6120: Any opinions on “satellite TV on your PC”?
Anyone try one of those companies offering watching satellite TV channels on your PC (for one-time fee of 40-60 dollars). Any opinions? Good or bad? What if you get that service and then run the line from your computer or monitor to you HD television (using something like DVI to HDMI cable) will you lose quiet a bit of resolution? Thanks.

Some of them are swindlers, Those are recorded TV shows.There are real live broadcast most are educational boring channels and religious shows, lots of porn and music .The supposed to be premium ch like ESPN,HBO etc. are recorded.The picture will be stretch if you connect it to widesreen TV since most are streaming videos.You can get it for free from underground sites, also from P2P.

Question by my middle name is danger: watching satellite tv on your computer?
i’ve seen these sites that advertise “watch 2500 channels of satellite tv on your computer” “one time fee” “100% legal” and they offer software to download for around $ 60 are these sites all just a scam or do any of you know for a FACT (you own one of these programs) they really work or is it just a scam
